The British-Kosovar Chambers of Commerce holds a unique event on International Women’s Day 2023 with the presence of highly regarded women leaders of our community.
This marks the first time a diaspora platform invited a state leader for IWD. We are delighted to show our chamber’s mission to promote gender equality. The presence of Kosovo’s former President Atifete Jahjaga, Vera Sahatçiu, and Adelina Badivuku, among others, informed and inspired our guests with their exceptional stories.
Hosted in the offices of Bolt Burdon, the event saw over 100 guests celebrate this important date.
Atifete Jahjaga, served as the third President of Kosovo, being the first female President of the Republic of Kosovo, the first non-partisan candidate and the youngest female head of state to be elected to the top office. She served as Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police, holding the rank of General Lieutenant Colonel, the most senior among women officers in Southeastern Europe.
During her term, he hosted the International Women’s Summit ”Partnership for Change – Empowering Women” attended by over 200 leaders from across the world. In 2012 President Jahjaga became a member of the Council of Women World Leaders.
