The British Kosovar Chamber of Commerce (BKCC), with the valued support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in London and the British Embassy in Pristina, recently hosted ‘Digital Bridge: UK & Kosovo in Tech’ event. The gathering convened a distinguished assembly of entrepreneurs and technology professionals from both nations to celebrate existing successes and explore future opportunities for collaboration.

The event was formally opened by His Excellency Ilir Kapiti, Ambassador of Kosovo to the UK. His remarks were followed by a video message from HE Jonathan Hargreaves, the British Ambassador to Kosovo, who reinforced the mutual commitment to strengthening bilateral tech partnerships. Adding a unique perspective, Ade Clewlow also delivered a message, sharing his experiences in Kosovo during his NATO service.

A key highlight was a presentation on the successful partnership between Kosovan firm ARCUS and British defence and aerospace leader BAE Systems. Behar Fazliu, CEO of Arcus, and David Smith, a Systems Architect at BAE Systems, jointly outlined their collaborative journey, providing a tangible example of the potential for synergy.

The proceedings continued with an insightful panel discussion moderated by John Grogan, featuring panelists Behar Fazliu, David Smith, Rita Kastrati, Besnik Vrellaku, Lida Rragami, and Venet Osmani. The discussion focused on the panelists experience doing business with Kosovo, and the vast opportunities for cooperation between the two countries’ particularly tech sectors. A clear consensus emerged that significant potential exists, with panelists valuing the the role that chambers of commerce and trade departments of both countries can play in facilitating these vital connections.

The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, followed by a networking reception that allowed guests to build upon the day’s discussions and forge new professional relationships.
